It had been a little tricky for the servant, Maeve, to work her way over and stymie the damage wrought by whatever was eating at Tehodis, considering that Tehodis was currently clamped onto Endless and refused to let go, and Woodrow had (very uncomfortably) wormed his way up beside Endless as well, trying to get closer to Tehodis. Endless felt a surge of satisfaction on her behalf when she flinched away from Woodrow's touch, and it took much of his own effort not to just shove the man away, knowing that this was his fault for getting a mortal doctor in the first place. Instead he would just be vindicated in knowing that Tehodis knew he was at least there for her.
(If only he knew just the extent of how much this was actually Woodrow's fault, Endless might have been less capable of controlling his rage.)
Maeve managed to transmute the end of Tehodis's arm into something akin to wood, which was very odd to Endless, though he supposed on a chemistry level that flesh and bark had several common elements, and who knew how different Kina flesh was to that of a human's... At any rate, he'd been expecting maybe for Maeve to recirculate the magic energy so that the curse would travel slower, but transforming part of her into wood appeared to do the trick as well. Tehodis was still in pain, still afflicted, but the black, vein-like lines seemed to be moving a bit slower now.
Woodrow suggested they leave, but when he tried to pick up Tehodis she just clung to Endless more tightly, moaning out a protesting sob, and it was enough to give Woodrow's hands pause. Woodrow did not look happy about this, and Endless could see him glaring at him with a sense of extreme displeasure.
Endless grit his teeth and took a deep breath. Right now, he needed Woodrow on his side. "I'm sorry," he said, trying to sound sincere. "She's a friend of mine from years back. I think she's just not herself right now, and I'm a familiar presence for her to anchor herself to. Would it be okay if I carry her? I can manage it."
She weighed very little, of course, as Kina did. Probably no more than ten pounds if Endless had to place a guess. He knew now that males of her species were bigger and heavier, but even they apparently never got any heavier than thirty pounds at most. Scrawny though Endless may have been, carrying Tehodis was something he could easily do. He demonstrated as much by pushing himself to his feet. Tehodis was hanging onto him, and Endless moved his arms underneath her as his motion pulled her off the couch, causing her to fall into his hands. He was still shackled, which made the hold awkward, but she was light enough that it wasn't impossible. He pressed her close to his chest, using his telekinesis to steady himself on his feet.
His back was to Woodrow for a moment, so he murmured very softly into Tehodis's hair, quiet enough that only she would hear him, "I won't let him touch you. Don't worry. I've got you." He turned back to face the Lord again, offering an assuring smile. "See? I've got her."
He hoped that maybe the fact that he wasn't asking to be unbound would encourage Woodrow to do just that, so that he could spread his arms and keep a more secure hold on her. He really would rather not just break the things; that'd do him no favors in regards to not looking dangerous, and would probably just encourage Woodrow to find a stronger binding for him.
Before Woodrow could answer him, though, one of the guards from earlier came back into the room. He spoke quietly, almost timidly, as though afraid to make the angry Lord angrier. "My Lord? We've seen to it that the Doctor has been jailed. He will await your order on what to do with him. We also wished to inform you that this prisoner, Artemis White, has a few personal belongings Officer Kitai had stored in a chest for him. Would you like those retrieved for him, or shall we maintain custody?"

An old friend, was he? Woodrow's eyes narrowed and he stepped back, not trusting this boy. Tehodis had never mentioned any previous romantic entanglements. But of course, she hadn't mentioned Tristan Cowell either... Which didn't rule out this criminal fool. Would she really have loved such a dirty vagrant? Woodrow was growing angrier by the second.
He lead the group out of the manor and down to the carriage which was ready and waiting for them, he pulled open the door and as Endless passed him, he held up a hand and quickly undid the manacles. He didn't want to -- but it allowed his hands to brush Tehodis' body, and it would make it easier for Tehodis to be placed down safely and comfortably once within the carriage.
His servants approached as they loaded in, asking about the prisoner's belongings. "No," He instructed, partially out of jealousy, and partially out of perfectly good reasoning, "Should he be telling the truth and Tehodis is saved, he shall return here with me, and I shall personally pardon him for his crimes. Until then... He remains a prisoner, and prisoners are not permitted personal effects."
He followed Endless into the carriage, sitting opposite to the two who were filling up one of the seats. He would have preferred to sit with Tehodis. To run his hands lovingly through her hair to comfort her. But this boy was preventing him from doing so. Woodrow would have to make sure that when they arrived at the boat he picked Tehodis up first. He needed to make sure she knew he was saving her.

"No," Tehodis managed, her mind coming back to her little by little as the wood fought the infection and permit her body to rest. It was clear who the no was meant for, and Woodrow had not managed to tell the carriage to move before she said it. He watched her with an attitude she couldn't describe in her current state - but it certainly wasn't positive. She needed to elaborate. Reason. "You... You... You're too important, m-my L-... Markus," She chose his name specifically as she attempted to keep her eyes open and seeing, "You only just returned... They need you here. W-we'll be back... Right end-- Artemis?"

Woodrow blanched at her sudden refusal. His face was quick to turn from shock to anger, and he prepared to lecture her, to yell at her, to do something he would regret later - but her turn to flattery was enough to soothe him. She knew him well, and knew how to manipulate him - though he was too oblivious to his own shortcomings to notice it.
But she was right. He had a meeting with Pelagia Xista tomorrow. The sun wasn't far from rising and he hadn't slept in a long time. He wanted to insist on going with her, but... "Fine," He finally said, standing back up and exiting the carriage, "Your materials are collateral, Prisoner White. You return with Tehodis - healed and back to normal--" He eyed her arm stump for a moment, a frown forming on his lips, "And you shall regain not only your materials, but your freedom as well. My fastest boat will be awaiting you at the docks, and two steeds shall be prepared for you on the Nisequois side... Do not fail in this, Artemis White."

Endless was currently feeling just about as stunned as the guards who were about to close the carriage door.
It was surprise enough when Woodrow did, in fact, unshackle Endless's wrists as they climbed into the carriage; sure, he had been hoping for that to happen, but Endless didn't think he'd actually do it, and the ease it added to his carrying Tehodis was much appreciated. But when Tehodis suddenly spoke up and said Woodrow shouldn't come at all? That was surprising for another reason entirely. Mostly audacity. Endless was surprised she was gutsy enough to suggest he stay behind when he was clearly not happy about the situation and when Endless's own freedom was probably dangling from a thread right now. But then Woodrow actually... accepted.
He agreed to it. What?
Endless blinked, and before he could say anything, one of the guards spoke up, sounding flabbergasted.
"S-sir! All due respect, but you're just going to... trust this criminal by himself? Shouldn't you at least send someone with them?"
The venomous glare Woodrow gave the other man seemed to suggest he probably didn't like his order being called into question by someone Endless could only assume was a grunt. He opened his mouth to interject, to maybe try and just agree quickly to Woodrow's terms and save the guard a tongue-lashing by swearing he'd take care of Tehodis, but that's when another guard spoke up, this one sounding a little more collected. He'd actually only just showed up on the scene a moment ago, if Endless had been paying attention.
"M'Lord I am in agreement. Or rather..." The guard glanced at Endless, and there was an almost conspiratory look about him. He leaned in closer to Woodrow, murmuring to him in a hushed tone Endless could not hear. "I've reported to Vincent what has happened tonight, as asked; he asked me to tell you that he agrees you should stay, as he is departing for Artavia tomorrow whilst you have a meeting with Pelagia Xista scheduled. He asked that I accompany miss Kitai and the prisoner in your stead. Is that acceptable m'Lord?"
Endless never did like it when someone was saying things he couldn't hear right in front of him, especially not when they kept looking at him with a look of scorn. It wasn't as withering as Woodrow's glare, though. Still, considering the circumstances, Endless was pretty sure that two officers mumbling to each other over dagger-sharp glares while Endless had just been freed from prison was not high up on his list of things he was very happy to see.
"I-I, uh," he cut in, not sure if it was appropriate to interrupt but not wanting to remain silent any longer. "I'll go with any escort you like. I just want to see Tehodis better. I promise I'll do everything I can."

He simply wanted them to leave. Not just Artemis and Tehodis - but all of them. He felt as though they were all laughing at him, at his damaged pride. His face was curled to a scowl, even angrier at his men questioning his decisions. It didn't matter if they were right. It mattered that they thought they were.
He turned on them with a swift and furious motion, slamming the door of the carriage shut at the same time. "Do you think I'm that dull?" He seethed in a whisper, the two guards shrinking in opposition to the fire in Woodrow's eyes and the ice in his tone, "A scout will follow them, you imbeciles. A criminal will not show their true colours in the company of men in uniform." He raised his hand as if to strike them, but lowered it to his belt instead, one hand tracing the handle of his rapier.
"Take them to the docks, driver," Woodrow commanded, turning with a flourish and returning to his home.
