[attr="class","h1"]Great Festival of Peace
[attr="class","body"]In Aissic, the month of The Winter Storm is an extremely festive time. Many of the cities hold impressive festivals, but there as none so impressive as the one in the city of Asmin.
In Asmin, throughout the month the city is alive with spectacle. Coloured lights are hung from every door and window, shops offer numerous sales and specials, and every night fireworks are set off just outside of the city - which get grander and grander with each passing night.
Artists of all strokes come to Asmin during this time, enjoying the festivities, and the number of people who are excited by their wares or performances. The main centre of the city is lined with pop-up booths selling sculptures, pottery, paintings, jewelry and more; while the stores themselves offer a special brand of peppermint spiced cigar, which is sold only once a year.
The taverns are lively this time of year as well, and the most popular drink combines a peppermint cream liqueur, coffee, and shavings from ice harvested from the mountain said to be Fiorre's sleeping breath.
These festivals attract visitors from all over the world, so there is a large increase in the number of ships - both sea and air - that go to Aissic during this time. Will your character be going to the festival this year?

Locations
- Aissic
While anyone who worships Fiorre, or the Pantheon of Peace, will be celebrating this month, it is the whole of Aissic that will be alive with festivities! They follow Fiorre to an extreme, and you can be sure that the Frost Palace, and all other popular locations, will be lit brightly all month long. - Asmin
The hold of Asmin, in Aissic, is well known for its arts and festivals - and this month is its time to shine. Even the Queen ensures that she comes to Asmin to celebrate with her people. From peasants, to nobles, to royalty - Asmin attracts all during The Winter Storm.
Prior to The Winter Storm as merchants and performers prepared for the festival, a horrid attack was laid upon a carnival that erects every year. The ring leader was killed, and one of the main tents burned to the ground. Some centaurs and a strange woman were seen nearby. Anyone with information is asked to report to the local SSPB office. - Tarifa
The main port city of Aissic, and an extremely busy locale this time of year. Most ships are expected to wait in queue to be processed, and the SSPB has a very firm and effective method of doing just that. It's rare for anything to slip through the cracks this month... Until a shift change, of course.
Major People
- Queen Marion Nickell
Being an extremely devout follower of Fiorre, and this celebration being in Fiorre's honour, Marion Nickell is always seen in Asmin during the festivals. She is guaranteed to be in the city during the end of the month when the celebrations grow to immense proportions, but she can sometimes be spotted earlier, as well. - Jarl Kaise Colette
For the Jarl of Asmin, this is Kaise Colette's time to shine. She spends her entire year working up to this point, and always makes a point of raising the bar. She likes to ensure that all guests to the city are well taken care of, and will often mingle with commoners during the celebrations. - Markus Woodrow
Lord Markus Woodrow, the captain of the Sumish Sea Peacekeeper's Brigade, has made peace a synonym to his own self, and is a much honoured guest towards the end of the festival. In addition to his appearance, he also supplies a larger battalion of peacekeepers throughout the month.
Minor People
- The Defiled Grail
Some pirates of The Defiled Grail took a risk in coming to Aissic during the festival, in order to obtain an airship. They succeeded, and did not seem to draw the notice of anyone not as equally as seedy as them. - Nikolai Swiftwind
A centaur coming to Aissic to locate kidnapped younglings. He assisted a merchant in erecting her jewelry stall -- but also assisted in destroying a carnival. - Plague
A mind-controlled ex-member of The Defiled Grail who is under the control of Thomas Dunn. She is seeking out Defiled Grail crew members in the final days of the festival. - Thomas Dunn
An "honoured" guest of Markus Woodrow II for the peace festival this year. - Violet Macar
A reporter who teamed up with Nikolai Swiftwind to locate the missing centaur younglings. She discovered a carnival being erected in Asmin for the festival was harbouring two kidnapped younglings, and helped free them - and helped with killing the ringleader and lighting the place on fire. - SSPB Members
Aissic is full of SSPB members this time of year. Not among them? Vincent Laeretti and Tehodis Kitai, who jumped ship - quite literally - when they were only an hour from arriving.
Objects
- The Breath of Fiorre
In the centre of Asmin each year, an ice statue of Fiorre is erected. Her hand is held out as if holding something, and each year an honoured Aiss native is given the honour of placing The Breath of Fiorre in her hand. This object is like a torch made of crystal, with its hilt decorated painstakingly with delicate designs in blue and purple. It is a beautiful, priceless object, and so there are always guards around the statue ensuring that it is only looked at - and never touched. The object is held in the hand of the ice statue, and in the right light, it appears that the torch is full of an icy mist - said to be Fiorre's very breath, blessing the festival.
