Oh woe is me~
L eigh was taunting him when she revealed her dice. She seemed incredibly smug about her victory, especially since her own call, the previous highest, was the winning call. Not that they'd bet anything special for the winner, but she probably saw it as a victory of honor, a way to really get back at Maldrem for cheating her.
Oh, wouldn't it just be wonderful to stick it to her and have the last laugh?
Maldrem gave her the satisfaction of looking dismayed for all of three seconds... and then went right back to smirking. He clasped his hands together and brought them up beside his face, speaking in a phony falsetto. "Oh no! What ever will I do? Not stealing from the captain! Please, anything but that! Have mercy!"
Some of the onlookers around them were giving him strange looks, and others were chuckling. Maldrem dropped the act, returning to his normal relaxed posture, his expression unfazed. "Is that what you were hoping for?" he asked in a patronizing tone. He stood up from the table then, chuckling as he pocketed his dice. He tossed Leigh a wink. "My night just got a whole lot more thrilling. And speaking of thrills: you two have fun now!"
He turned on his heel and swaggered off, laughing audibly and looking as though he was walking on air. He wondered if Leigh was realizing she'd given him exactly what he wanted, that he'd gotten everything he'd wanted out of tonight. Frankly, he would have loved to stick around and watch her face, but turning back to look at her now would only make it obvious how much he wanted to see her reaction, which would just make it obvious he was trying to get her goat.
And that would completely defeat the purpose.
He kept his eyes forward and kept walking with a bounce in his step. He had other business to attend to now, and he'd be seeing Kali and Leigh again once that was completed.

[attr="class","wavesundtext"] He didn't seem scared enough - he obviously didn't know the things the Sail Master had told her about the captain. The grizzled old fellow had been a part of more than one crew of Merlyn's, and from the way he spoke - it didn't seem that Merlyn would take well to his quarters being invaded, even if it was for the sake of a game. She allowed Wight to feel excited though, she hoped it would make him clumsy. She hoped he'd have a new scar to show in the morning, or that he'd be stuck in the brig for a few days. She wiggled her fingers as a goodbye, playing into his confidence as much as he wanted.
She'd let the captain do the rest.
It was Kali she cared about more now. She turned to the newbie and opened her mouth to speak, but not before one of the drunk mates stumbled to the table, spilling his drink on Leigh's shirts. "It lookssss laiek you girls neehhhd a therdd, He slurred, punctuating his statement with a pungent hiccup. Leigh's hand went to her pistol, but a spark of inspiration came to her as her eye caught a pile of rope, and she realized the drunk was the same one who'd tried to cop a feel earlier. She smiled at him pleasantly - a sober man would find the look intimidating, he found it inviting - then at Kali. "Say, newbie... Know how to fish?"
Wight was such a drama queen. Kali almost wanted something to go horribly wrong, because his arrogance regarding his upcoming task was very unappealing. She thought he could benefit from being knocked down a few pegs, so to speak. When he left a drunkard came over and seemed to want to play, and Kali could see from the look on Leigh's face that she was interested but, not for the reasons the man probably wanted. "Fish? I've never done it before, but suddenly I find myself interested."

[attr="class","wavesundtext"] "Good," She smiled, standing up and offering a gentle hand to the drunk. She caressed his cheek and he leaned in for a kiss, which she dodged out of the way from. "We're going to change games," She told him in a husky voice. His eyes glinted with excitement and he nodded, looking between the two girls.
The game wasn't liar's dice. Nor was it a game that the man might have enjoyed. But it was one that Leigh and Kali could likely spend hours on. Leigh and Kali had lead the man up to the deck of the ship - Kali using some of her unique brand of magical charm to make the more suspicious up-deck ignore them. They headed to the stern side of the ship, and Leigh taught Kali some simple sailor's knots.
"It works well on hands, too," She noted about one knot, hoping Kali was paying attention so the two could make use of it another time. When the drunk was fully tied - he realized by the time his legs were bound together and not apart that this might be a questionable situation - Leigh pushed him towards Kali, who stopped his stumbling movement with hardly a finger's worth of effort.
"The trick to fishing, is making sure that the fish you want... Can smell the bait," Leigh explained, drawing her hook across the nape of the man's neck. She didn't want to kill him of course - that wouldn't be very team-minded of her, and besides, most fish preferred their food live - but she did want to bring forth a decent spurt of blood. She picked her spot, and sliced -- slowly. More for Kali's enjoyment than her own, but it still felt deserved. The guy was an ass. He'd know after this to back off, that was sure.
"When it's good and bloody... You can toss it in." She stepped back and gestured to the edge of the ship. It was Leigh's turn to enjoy the show -- she wanted to see Kali's muscles at work.
Kali tried to keep her enchantment magic on the down low since she'd joined the Defiled Grail, but she was drunk and this seemed like it was going to be very fun, and when some of the less drunk people on the upper decks started giving them suspicious looks it wasn't very hard to get them to turn the other way. Kali followed along with great interest when Leigh taught her the knots, which she was already imagining more unique purposes for. Leigh must have had the same idea, because she casually mentioned which ones worked well on hands too.
The man was tied and Leigh told her that it was important the fish could smell the bait and indicated what the plan was, which had Kali watching eagerly. The hook was sharp and Leigh dragged it across his neck slowly, sensually, and Kali bit her lip and drew some blood of her own. After that it was her job to toss him overboard, which was something Kali had wanted to do to someone since she'd first stepped on the ship. She grinned viciously and pulled the man, who was looking entirely terrified at this point, close and ran her finger along his new wound, digging her nail in and watching the delicious pain it caused. She wouldn't lick his blood though - she didn't trust the blood of someone so dirty.
Years of harsh training in the ring had built her strength to the point that lifting the man would be easy - one of her favourite moves in a fight was lifting opponents overhead and throwing them to the ground. The crunch of bones on the concrete was always incredibly satisfying to her, and to the rich sods who came to watch. She wouldn't be lifting him over her head though, because there was still a distinct possibility of the terrified, drunk man either vomiting or pissing himself and she didn't want to get any of that shit on her. She grabbed him roughly by his bound hands and legs and tossed him overboard easily, watching as he disappeared quickly beneath the waves. It it weren't for the rope still attached to him, he would have surely been lost the moment he hit the water. Note to self, do not fall off the ship at night.
"At least he might attract something tonight," she joked.

[attr="class","wavesundtext"] Leigh laughed at Kali's remark - the alcohol loosening her up enough to freely crack smiles. The chuckling continued as the man went overboard. She held tight to the rope as he landed, and pulled on it roughly. She wanted to make sure, after all, that wasn't going to drown down there... That just wouldn't be fun.
She tied the rope off with ease onto the ship for safekeeping as the bait sputtered below them, and then leaned back on the ship's rail. "So tell me newbie," She smiled and grabbed the bottle of rum she'd left tucked with the leftover rope, drinking from it and passing it to Kali, "What lead you to our dastardly crew of misfit toys?"
Kali leaned her back against the side of the ship as well when Leigh did, and casually looked down to see the sputtering drunkard, held just high enough that he wouldn't drown. She wondered what creatures lurked in the ocean at night. This world wasn't the same as the feywilds, but it still had more than enough monsters to make it interesting. Leigh took a drink and passed it over, asking her what lead her to join the Defiled Grail. She took a drink as well and replied, 'First one was free. You want more, you best be ready to pay for it." She smirked and passed the rum back. Leigh knew what she wanted.

[attr="class","wavesundtext"] "Is that so?" Leigh smirked and pivoted herself so that she was standing in front of Kali, instead of along the railing. Her left hand was on the railing behind Kali -- her hook, on the other hand, was resting gently on top of Kali's left. If Leigh had a hand, perhaps the action could have been seen as romantic. She didn't though, she had a hook. She stared down at Kali with a smirk, enjoying the four inches she had above the brutish satyr. The intimate silence was punctured only by a cry for help as a fish began to nibble at the drunk's nose beneath them - a soundtrack that seemed to work for Kali.
"I'll tell you what," Leigh started as she adjusted the hook to point dully into the flesh between Kali's thumb and index finger, "The more interesting I find your story, the bloodier you get."
Kali liked this. She was usually the shorter one in a group but was often intimidating enough that it made up for it. Right now she wasn't trying to be intimidating, and when Leigh boxed her in she enjoyed the rare feeling of vulnerability. Not emotional vulnerability, but the literal physical kind. Leigh's hook was resting on her hand, its light touch a promise of more as Leigh said the same - the more interesting the story, the bloodier she would get. Kali wasn't much for words usually, but with a bet like that she would play ball.
"I was a cage fighter in Muerte for eight years. Some people go into cage fighting because they have no other options, or they owe a debt, or they're slaves bought to fight. I just liked it. It worked for me. Even when I didn't win, I still got what I wanted. A few years back though, the anti-beastfolk bullshit found its way even to the underground, so I left. I never really got out of cage fighting though - there's an underground just about everywhere, and I fought my way across most of them. I started more than my share of barfights too. Not too long ago I ended up in Submiere, where the SSPB are a little more on the ball than the law enforcement elsewhere. I got cornered after a particularly brutal night, but enchantment magic has always kept me out of the hands of the law. After I sent them bumbling off I found out they weren't actually after me, though I'm sure they would have been if they'd heard about what I did. They were after a pirate named Bradshaw who saw what I did and thought my particular talents could be useful in this line of work. He invited me to join, and now here I am." She smirked, hoping her story was worth at least enough to make it worthwhile, but then frowned slightly in frustration. "The problem now is being trapped on this ship with a bunch of people I'm not allowed to beat to shit every day. I have a lot of pent up energy."

[attr="class","wavesundtext"] A cage-fighter? Well, that only made sense. She was cut like a knife, her lines harsh and unforgiving. Leigh was certain that if Kali wanted to, she could easily snap Leigh's more roguish form in two... Which was part of her attraction. She didn't have the same appreciation for pain that it was long evident Kali had, but she laid so often with prissy noble pillow princesses, desperate for something they knew their husbands would never give them. Kali wasn't any of that. Kali was dangerous.
As Kali spoke, Leigh began to cut into her hand with the hook. She applied pressure until the think finally popped gently through the flesh, and then as Kali continued she mildly moved it around, occasionally deepening the cut, occasionally widening it. As Kali regaled Leigh with Mot politics, Leigh lifted the hook a bit... But she didn't stick on the topic for long, and as it returned to Submiere, she began drawing the hook up Kali's arm and leaving dark red driblets as she did.
As the story ended, Leigh took the hook back, and tugged on the rope tied above them as she stayed staring at Kali. As she did, gurgling could be heard, and a plea to be let back up. She realized then that she'd never been able to do twisted shit like this with anyone else. She liked it. In fact, she loved it. She pulled the rope again, enjoying the cries coming from down below. Then, without warning, she moved her hook back to Kali. It found a place at the back of Kali's neck and punctured her as Leigh pulled the satyr's face up to her's. Her other hand tangled itself in the girl's hair, tugging on it mercifully. She always enjoyed pulling a woman's hair... But never did she do it this hard. It made her feel powerful. It made her want more.
Just as their bait screamed at the top of his lungs - likely a bigger fish nibbling than before - she crashed her lips into Kali's.
