As Zota finishes writing letter to a former employee - Loark Voden - Edgar Vanros arrives with news that Acacia-Black has left for Artavia with a man named Thomas Abernathy. Zota does not recognize the name, but is concerned for Zechariah's reasons to go to Artavia.
2. The Past in Question
Late Afternoon, 10th of The Scales of Judgment, 5152
Zota and Edgar meet with Thomas Dunn, who has returned to Dirys with Zechariah. Zota allows Zechariah to go with Thomas, believing that it will do some good in preparing Zechariah for the Jewel Shore Expedition. However, believing that Edgar still deserves some blame for this whole affair, he assigns Edgar with retrieving Zechariah when the time comes.
3. Appeal to Authority
Early Morning, 12th of The Scales of Judgment, 5152
Kornelius Kross calls Zota for a meeting, informing him that Zota's daughter, Nicole Vanros, has been arrested for attempting to shoot Lord Markus Woodrow. Refusing to believe that Nicole would do such a thing, Zota intends to prepare a case in Nicole's defense.
4. Keep Your Head Low
Early Evening, 3rd of The Empty Lantern, 5153
Desperate to find recruits for his expedition to the Jewel Shore, Zota personally interviews several of his miners. He meets with Natalia Anjali, a seemingly plain and ordinary worker. For a time, Zota has little hope for the young woman prospects, but as she pleas to be more useful to the company, Zota finally decides to hire her for the expedition.

I really built the character around what you told me about how Zota disliked Loark because he was too good/stood out too much, so she really does the opposite.
