Endless is a very complicated individual with multiple layers of insecurities, self-doubt, and at times even self-loathing, and yet simultaneously there are aspects of kindness, righteousness, and even charm. A large amount of his thoughts and feelings regarding himself and others stems from his traumatic background and his own inability to recognize himself for what he is: a Moonborn. He thinks himself merely an odd human, perhaps mutated by the radiation in Artavia (where he was born and initially raised), which has not done a lot to improve his self-image. Other people often give him strange looks upon sight, which has only lent to his erroneous belief that it's because he must be some sort of freak; he was never told what he was as a child, and Artavia was not a land known for widespread teachings on the magical or theological.[break][break]
Endless poor self-image is furthered by the fact that he is clumsy and awkward - he can never seem to get the hang of moving his own body properly, commonly tripping or knocking things over. He finds he can move much more fluidly and with a controlled sense of grace when he applies his special gift, but he doesn't like to do this in front of other people as he feels it's just yet another thing that's wrong with him.[break][break]
In spite of all his issues with himself, or perhaps because of them, he has an incredibly kind heart that can't stand to see others in trouble. Despite worrying that he might cause someone trouble by getting involved with their business, he can't bear to leave someone alone if he sees them in a jam, especially if it seems incredibly unfair. Scenes of someone being ganged up on by multiple individuals, someone being blamed for something they didn't do, someone who is unable to defend themselves being victimized by someone who is clearly very powerful; these are things Endless can't stand, and he'll often intervene without thinking about it when he sees it, though he may find himself regretting it later.[break][break]
He genuinely wants to be friendly with people, and tries to put his best foot forward, but his own insecurities and sense of self-deprecation prevents him from thinking he's really worth anyone's time, and a part of him is always concerned that people hanging around him might only be using him for something; across his life, he's been taken advantage of for trusting people one too many times, and it's left its mark on him. His guard is almost constantly up, even when he's trying to be kind, and he is often discouraged from even trying with most people due to the odd looks they give him for his appearance.[break][break]
Rounding his list of insecurities is also the matter of his orientation. Endless has never looked very seriously or deeply into the prospect of romance, on account of his trust issues, but even if not for those he'd still find the prospect of attempting romantic engagement difficult, due to his inclination towards the same sex. Though many places in the world have become rather open on the matter, Endless was raised hearing no shortage of statements that indicated people's distaste on the matter, and it's only added to his sense that there is something wrong with him.[break][break]
A psychiatrist's goldmine, more or less, his habit of avoiding people has also caused him to have frequent bouts of silence wherein he talks at length to himself mentally; sometimes this can go on for entirely too long, and make conversations awkward.

[attr="class","appheading"]APPEARANCE
[attr="class","appcontainer"]
Endless has a very distinctive appearance typical of Moonborn, though as far as he's aware it's more of a mutated human appearance. He stands at 5'10 and has strikingly pale skin, almost chalk-white but for the barest bits of pigmentation. Living in Artavia in an area with little sunlight, his whole family was on the pale side, but his was always an exceptional case. He has a thin and lanky build with a delicate bone structure, the type that looks as though it would be suited for graceful movements were it not for Endless's stunning failure to execute such grace. His fingers are particularly long and slim.[break][break]
His facial features are similarly angular and well-shaped, with a nose that points upward slightly, but the most eye-catching feature - and the one that he is most insecure of - are his eyes, which are comparable to silver plates. His eyes have larger-than-average irises, and they are completely silver in coloration, even lacking in visible pupils. If one were to inspect them closely, they would find that his eyes cast off a very dull glow as well, more noticeable in the evening than in daylight. If he should be standing in contact with moonlight, however, this dull glow becomes a much more apparent shine, giving his eyes the look of miniature moons of their own. He is so self-conscious of this feature that he tends to avoid going out at night in areas where people are around.[break][break]
He has a head of jet black hair, kept short in the back with slightly longer, somewhat choppy bangs - he cuts his hair himself and isn't exactly amazing at it, but as long as it gets the job done that's all that is important to him. No matter what he wears, he is always seen with his scarf. This accessory is precious to him, as it is the only memento from his mother he has left.

[attr="class","appheading"]HISTORY
[attr="class","appcontainer"]
Endless was born as the youngest son, and the youngest child, of Professors Roark Belus Laeretti and Alexandria Laeretti, who were a pair of famed inventors and scientists in Artavia. His parents had been highly respected minds in their field, and were major contributors to the new age of technological advancement that had gripped Artavia in recent years. They spaced out a number of children over the span of the peak of their success, when they could afford to raise a large family in their manor, and Endless had been the last of a string of six children.[break][break]
Unbeknownst to Endless, his parents recognized very clearly what he was upon his birth. His mother was terrified, though. As a woman of science, she didn't completely believe the long-told notion that Lightborn are destined to die for some divine cause, but the worry nagged at her all the same, a fear that she'd lose her little boy if he knew the truth. Though Roark did not completely agree with the idea, he went along with the notion of not telling Endless what he was. His mother even named him 'Endless' as something of a superstitious stroke, hoping it would ward off his supposed untimely end. Education on magical or theological matters was not widely taught or even believed in most places in Artavia, so Endless grew up never having a clear picture that he was not in fact human like the rest of his family, and though his siblings were never told otherwise either, some of them did suspect. Still they kept quiet on the matter, perhaps possessed of a similar protective urge for their youngest brother as their mother had been.[break][break]
Endless grew up idolizing his oldest brother, Vincent. Vincent was always so together, so in control of himself, and even at a young age had a way of commanding the respect of others. He was also ideological, full of a sense of justice towards people and the belief in defending the defenseless. Something about these beliefs struck a powerful chord in Endless, resonating with something inside of him that he likely didn't fully understand. Vincent had always told him that Endless shouldn't be afraid of people who would criticize him for his appearance, because he would always have his family to look after him and defend him, and in turn, Endless could defend them.[break][break]
Unfortunately, Vincent would prove to have been incorrect about this. When Endless was nine, attackers came for his family in the night. It remains one of Artavia's great unsolved mysteries: who attacked the Laerettis, who ordered it, where did they go afterward, how were they never found? It all remains shrouded, though many suspect that whoever ordered the attack at least had a clear reason; the family was getting too influential, their inventions too centralizing in Artavian society; some believe perhaps a competitor wanted them gone. All Endless knows or remembers is that he was being frantically woken up in the dead of night by his mother, who snatched him from his bed and ran down the hall with him. He could hear shouting, shooting, things breaking, and the whole manor felt hotter than usual. The next thing he knew, he was being shoved into a small safety space, concealed in a chamber underground, his mother was wrapping him in a scarf she'd been spending a week knitting for him, and promised him that everything would be okay, his siblings would be joining him soon, and that all he had to do was stay put and not come out.[break][break]
Endless listened. His mother shut the door, one last desperate look at the son she refused to let die, and closed the door. His siblings never came to join him that night. And when several hours had passed and he'd cried his eyes out waiting, he finally decided he couldn't keep his promise to his mother, and that he needed to check on what had happened. He managed to work the hidden door open, and stepped out into his home. He found a charred ruin waiting for him, support beams burnt black all around him, walls that were no longer there, and the air was thick with ash. Numb, shocked, he blindly wandered around, following the familiar paths of hallways that weren't properly there anymore, and he found bodies, blackened skeletons that had had the flesh burnt right off of them. As he slowly realized what had happened, he started to hyperventilate. He started screaming, crying, clutching his head as splitting headaches came on. He couldn't think, he couldn't move, he couldn't breathe... and then with one more scream, a wave seemed to blast itself outward from him, shattering the flimsy wooden beams that remained, blowing away debris, and leaving him now breathing but exceptionally freaked out.[break][break]
He heard voiced nearby then, and in a terrified fit over who it could be, he fled the scene. What he wouldn't know is that he missed an Artavian search party that had been hoping to find survivors from the wreckage. As far as they knew, the Laeretti family was gone. Endless lived a homeless life for a time then, bumming around the more slummy areas of Artavia and avoiding contact with people, driven by a paranoid fear that everyone was out to get him. The time alone gave him the opportunity to become more aware of the strange power he'd used at his charred home, a form of telekinesis, and he used this to aid his survival, eventually managing to stow away aboard a vessel bound for the earthbound continents; Artavia was too difficult to survive in on the streets, for as heavily patrolled as it was.[break][break]
Eventually, he found his way down to Submiere, living as a street urchin in the much less moderated streets there. But one day, he happened to see an old woman struggling with a load of groceries. She was walking down the road, tapping away at the cobble with a cane in one hand, her purchases gripped in the other, and Endless found himself stricken with a deep sense of sympathy for her. How could a blind woman be wandering these streets alone? Didn't she have anyone to help her? Endless acted without thinking, approaching her and offering to help her carry her groceries for her. She gave him a warm smile and accepted his offer, informing him she wasn't completely blind just yet but that the help was certainly appreciated. Endless walked the woman. Urla, home, made sure she arrived safely and helped her put her things away, and when he was prepared to leave, she asked him with a somewhat knowing tone if he'd had anything to eat that day.[break][break]
An evening at Urla's home turned into several of them, as she conveniently had some task she needed help with each day, and of course, always insisted on repaying the boy's kindness with a meal. After a couple of weeks of this, it went unspoken that this was Endless's new home. He spent the next several years of his life taking care of Urla, and making sure she wouldn't be taken advantage of - she'd been being overcharged at the grocery store, come to find out, the storeowner taking advantage of her blindness, and he saw to it that this was not only halted, but that the owner even refund much of Urla's gold - after all, the owner didn't quite like Endless's threat of taking his information to the up and rising SSPB.[break][break]
Endless's time spent with Urla helped to gradually warm his heart to people again,and to the idea of helping those in need, but he often wondered to himself if she would treat him with the same kindness if she could see the way he looked, or if she could observe how he managed to accomplish some of the more strenuous tasks she asked him to fulfill. Even despite her warm heart, he found it hard to trust when so many strangers on the street looked at him with foreboding glances. He didn't think anyone would ever truly show him the same unconditional love his family did.[break][break]
Eventually, the day came when Urla was to pass. The aged woman knew the day was coming, and on some level Endless knew as well, but he was still beside himself when the time came. This was the last sense of family he had left now, and it too was fading. But Urla thanked him for everything he'd done for her, telling him to never give up that part of himself who cared, who looked after others, and that it would guide him to his own true happiness some day. Endless took the words to heart even in spite of internal protests. When she passed, he used most of his savings to pay for a funeral, and he continued to dwell in her home for only a few months before he finally decided it was time to go. He couldn't stay in another home where another family had been lost.[break][break]
He has led a wanderer's life ever since. His particular gifts allow him to fulfill odd jobs for those who are asking, earning him enough to survive. He has also met a number of people since leaving Urla, some of whom he even tentatively regards as friends. Of course, as several of these ventures have bitten him in the rear, it's difficult to say if he'll ever truly open his heart.

[attr="class","appheading"]ABILITIES
[attr="class","appcontainer"]
[attr="class","appability"]➢ Telekinesis[break]
Endless possesses a unique power not known to have manifested in quite the same fashion in others, perhaps a gift of Khades to one of her Moonborn children, though as far as he is concerned he considers it a mutation or defect. Endless can move inanimate objects with his mind, including objects of great weight, and can also release bursts of telekinetic force to assail a target with, focusing or expanding his power for different purposes of both offense and defense. He can even use this power to aid his own movements, becoming much less clumsy and capable of sweeping, excellently coordinated moves when his power is aiding him. However, this incredible gift has a drawback - it is very vulnerable to electrical disturbances or disruptions, making it dangerous both to himself and others to try and use it during an event such as a lightning storm. He also has a more difficult time using his ability around large bodies of water, due to the electrical conductivity of water; using it in such cases tends to fill his head with a dull buzzing sensation, and brings on headaches much more frequently. Endless is prone to these headaches even when using his power under normal circumstances, as prolonged usage causes a lot of mental strain, especially if used for more fantastic feats. His control greatly wavers if he forces himself to keep using it even during splitting headaches, and it can cause him to pass out. This power of his appears to be a manifestation of Transmutation magic that is unique to him.
[break][break]
[attr="class","appability"]➢ Darksight[break]
Endless can see very clearly in the dark with no problems. as an added bonus, his eyes light up under the moonlight, allowing him to act as a makeshift flashlight for others in emergencies! Please be sensitive about pointing this out to him. He is fragile.
[break][break]
[attr="class","appability"]➢ Jack of Many Trades[break]
Due to surviving off of a variety of odd jobs all his life, Endless has dipped his toe into a number of different things, and as such has at least a rudimentary understanding of a lot of different technical skills. He also has some ability in engineering, thanks to his background, but never had the time to pursue it long term before his family was killed. Lastly, he's decently capable of taking care of himself in time's of conflict due to many scrapes in his past living on the streets, but he depends mostly on his power to augment this, as his physical abilities by themselves are lacking.
