He was only mildly reassured when she came back to earth (well, figuratively speaking), her gaze resolidifying and accepting Rill's invitation. Endless was, for the moment, too distracted with relief at her well-being to think about returning to the fairy's home. Besides, it was just to take shelter from a storm, so it couldn't be that bad, right? Then Rill stretched and his clothes rode up on him, and Endless gulped. He hoped it wouldn't be that bad.
He was surprised though, when Tehodis took his wrist. And when she echoed to him a similar set of thoughts that he'd been thinking. Endless had been concerned with the idea of staying because he'd been worried about Tehodis - he still wanted to make sure she got home safe, that she was alright. But now she was telling him that she wanted to stay here, too...
He pondered for a moment why he cared so much. Why did it matter to him so much that Tehodis was happy and safe? He barely knew her. It'd been only an hour or so... but somehow that felt longer now. Endless wondered if maybe it wasn't just time in the feywild that was accelerated compared to Fortuna, but if maybe your experiences could feel accelerated as well. He wondered if even though he and Tehodis had only been together for a short time that maybe to them they were feeling more like companions of several hours.
He smiles at her reassuringly, moving his wrist out of her grasp and instead taking her hand in his to give it a comforting squeeze. He's not usually one for any kind of physical intimacy, but Tehodis almost seems childlike at the moment, and he feels the action appropriate.
"If you want to stay, that's fine with me. To be honest, I was thinking the same thing. I wouldn't mind sticking around for a while. You know, as long as another of those floating blizzard balls doesn't come trying to kill me again," he adds with a chuckle.
Rill calls after them, and Endless looks back up at their new friend, patiently waiting for them to start following him. He gives the fairy a nod before looking back at Tehodis. "Let's go, yeah?"
And with that he takes a leap off of his mushroom, pulling Tehodis with him - she's light, extremely light, and Endless finds that he can even manage to pull her along with him with his powers without much additional strain, not as long as he keeps holding her hand the way he does. They soar into the sky of the feywild, following after an amused-seeming Rill.

The two of them soared with Rill, Tehodis allowing herself to be distracted by everything she saw as Endless pulled her along. Knowing he had to keep his eyes on Rill - and likely that he wanted to keep his eyes on Rill - she would whisper the interesting things she saw. The black cat that jumped on clouds to chase a flying ball of yarn. The river of lava coiling, and uncoiling below them. The dark clouds approaching from far away. It was the final sight that made it a relief when they arrived in the village - which was just as huge as it looked from a distance, but not as fantastic.
The colours were just as bright as they had been from far away, but now it was clear why they were in so many different colours and shapes. The homes were on top of homes, which were on top of homes. It seemed the fairies lived piled on top of each other, several stories high. And now, she could see the royal city just beyond it - it was colourful, yes, but not with as many different shades and hues... And there was a massive, towering castle that extended beyond even the many houses they stood among now. She thought back to what Rill had said: The royal city was home to King Haelrin, and the royal fairies. This village, on the other hand... Seemed home to everyone else.
"So many houses," She commented as they touched land for the first time since arriving in the Feywild. She knew the answer to the question she would ask, but asked it anyways: "Are there this many homes in the royal kingdom, as well?"
Rill laughed and shook his head, pulling off his goggles and hat once more to let free his red hair. "Size-wise, there's this many homes, sure. But there aren't as many doors... Or people. Basically, if you're a royal fairy, you're over there. If you've turned against your talent, you're in the wild an' good luck to you's what I'd say. But if you do your duty, and live your life as intended - you've always got a roof over your head here."
Tehodis nodded, wondering where she would be placed if she were to stay. If this was a fairy village - were there villages for other creatures? Was there maybe... A village of people like her, who had lost their home, or decided to never go back?
Turning with a smile and a wink, Rill asked: "What do you think, Endless?"

Endless was almost starting to feel angry. Angry because how could Rill be so capable of so casually just... making Endless's heart beat stupidly fast like that. Was he even aware he was doing it? Was it intentional? It had to be illegal. This couldn't be allowed.
Endless had been foolish enough to think he'd be able to just innocently enjoy Rill's explanation of how things worked here and what all the homes were for, when prompted by Tehodis, and he paid attention with interest. He wondered, much like Tehodis did (unknown to him), if this was just a fairy's place of dwelling, if there were places where other people lived. He wondered where he might stay if he was to remain in this world.
But then Rill had to go and wink at him, asking him for his specific opinion on the matter, and Endless's first (mortifyingly embarrassing) thought was something along the lines of if I stay in this world I'm staying with you, I hope that that is alright.
He coughed and stammered. "It's, uh, very, uhm. Nice."
Smooth.
He glanced over at Tehodis, who seemed amused at his antics, and Endless had a panicked moment where he wondered if he was being completely obvious about the effect Rill seemed to have on him, and then found himself wondering if she even cared. He made a gesture at her that seemed to ask for help, but she just shrugged.
"It's pretty," Endless continued, turning back to Rill.
Rill rocked back on his heels a bit, stuffing his hands into a pair of pockets in his pants that looked like they were probably stylish in this world. "Y'know, you don't gotta like it, no one's forcin' you," he said, quirking a smile at him.
Endless waved his hands in front of him. "No, I do like it! I'm just... having trouble coming up with words, for some reason..."
Rill snorted a small laugh. "For some reason, huh?"
Okay, that was a coy tone just now, and now Endless was starting to wonder if he was being obvious to everyone. Or was he just being paranoid and imagining that Rill and Tehodis seemed to be seeing right through him? And if he wasn't, did Rill's teasing mean that he was being receptive to Endless's looks, or was he just teasing because that's what fairies were like? Endless had never met another fairy, he had no idea.
There were too many questions and Endless was too insecure to possibly delve into finding answers for them, so instead, he opted to change the subject entirely.
"A-anyway," he said. "Do we have to get indoors when that storm arrives? I noticed some black clouds on our way over here... Are the houses protected, or...?"
Rill hummed and glanced at the horizon, taking in the increasing closeness of the negative storm he'd mentioned. "The village itself is protected by our magic, so the storm can't damage it, but some creepy stuff likes to pop out during the storms, and sometimes there's some beasties in there that can bewitch you into leavin' the village, so to be safe we usually stay inside till it passes. Which reminds me, I should show you guys my place!"

When Rill said that he should show the two his place, Tehodis had assumed they would walk the streets, find his er... Building?... And then go up to it. She was wrong. Instead, Rill grabbed the two by their collars, and blasted forward in dust, up and up -- until reaching a flower that was unfamiliar to Tehodis. With a coordinated knock on the flower from Rill, it opened up and a blast of pumpkin and chocolate filled their nostrils. Tehodis wished it wasn't just a scent. She wasn't hungry, there was plenty of magic here - but she wanted food.
She refocused herself to take in the home as the flower opened. The flower itself looked somewhat like a poppy, but it had a fur coating on it, and wasn't red - instead it was all the colours of the ocean, moving like a tide. It was a strange combination of smells, sights, and feelings - pumpkin, chocolate, ocean, fur. It made her head spin a little. Rill pulled the two inside the flower, and followed after them. Once inside, the flower closed back up and the smells seemed to quiet a little. Inside, the decorations were sparse. In the centre of the "room" was a cozy looking bed of similarly furred leafs, and there was a cabinet made of wood -- no, not wood. Chocolate. -- That was filled with more familiar looking things. Things from their world - but also some things that were completely alien to them. Finally, was a large cooking pot in the form of a pumpkin, which was empty, but began to fill as Rill snapped his fingers.
"Home sweet home-ish!" Rill pounced on his bed, the leaves changing colour as he did. Staring at it gave Tehodis a headache. She was feeling overcome by the magic here, now that they were closed in. It was a feeling like she had eaten too much, that she was beyond full, and her body was overtaken by fatigue. Rill noticed her pallor and hopped up to grab her shoulders, laying her on the bed. "Look up," He told her, and she did. The 'ceiling' was the inside of the flower, and looked like ocean waves. She smiled.
"How 'bout you Endy?" Rill had simply decided to shorten Endless' name, and didn't seem to care if Endless minded or not, "Got your sea legs on?"

This was all just a bit overwhelming. Being grabbed and flown up somewhere was an unfamiliar and somewhat uncomfortable experience for Endless. He was used to pulling himself around, but when someone else did it it made him feel a little vulnerable. Then Rill showed them his "home" which was honestly so... much. The mix of smells, of sights, of sensations, Endless wasn't entirely sure how he was supposed to process it all.
Apparently Tehodis had been in the same boat, though perhaps worse off than him. She seemed almost dizzy, and Endless was a bit worried about that. Rill had noticed too, though, and seemed to know what to do about it. She looked quite content on the bed, staring at the oceanic ceiling, and Endless smiled. Maybe it was a Kina thing? There was honestly too much he didn't know about the peoples that lived in Fortuna.
He almost blanched at the nickname Rill had assigned him, trying to determine if he liked it, or if he just liked Rill saying it. He shrugged in response, attempting nonchalance. "Yeah, I think I'm fine. This place is a lot to take in, but I kinda like it. I like the smell, too. And is that chocolate?" he asked, looking at the cabinet.
Rill nodded, seeming excited. "Yep! I bought that from a furniture store in Dyalind, the city of sweets."
Endless blinked. "There's a city of sweets?"
Rill nodded back, a pleased grin on his face. "Yep, it's fantastic. The roads, the buildings, everything is made of candy, confections, chocolates, sweets of all kinds! It's a great place to take a vacation," he nodded. He then leaned forward ever so slightly. "Maybe I could take you some time."
Endless attempted to ignore the predictable quickening of his pulse and shortness of breath, but that did actually sound pretty fantastic. "Ahah..." He scratched his cheek, looking away. "A-and, uh, where is this then? This village?"
Rill's smile didn't fade, even though Endless had clearly avoided his invitation just now. "Ah, we call this the hidden village of Loturana. It's hidden cuz of the magic that makes the storm demons unable to enter it, and because as long as it stands, they can't see the royal kingdom. So actually, it's more like the castle is hidden than the village, but hey, I'm not the one who named it."
Apparently the other villages and cities didn't have the same kind of protections or responsibility as this village did, though Rill told Endless that most of those places also had battle fairies who could fight monsters if they tried to enter into their villages.
"The people here are mostly just workers," he explained, sitting cross-legged on the ground and casting a glance at Tehodis to make sure she was still doing alright.
After a moment of thought, Endless sat down as well, keeping his attention on the fairy. "So Rill... if me and Tehodis were hypothetically thinking of staying here for a while... where would we go?"
The question seemed to quiet Rill, and Endless noticed Tehodis glancing over from her spot on the bed. "...You guys wanna stay? But what about your lives back home? By now more than half a day'll have gone by in your world."
Endless shrugged. "To be honest, I don't really have a life back home. I can't speak for Tehodis, but I don't really have anyone or anything waiting for me..." His thoughts were starting to move into territory he didn't want to dwell on at the moment, so he brightened up and gave Rill a smile. "And besides, it'd be a waste to go back without seeing that Dyalind place."
Rill seemed uncertain of this answer, and he tossed a glance over at Tehodis as well. "And you?"

She hadn't fully thought of her reason for staying. She wanted to stay, certainly. But her mind was still a fog. Endless seemed so sure, despite his nonchalant answer. Tehodis... At first, she shrugged, her eyes closed and a hand on her head, attempting to ease it's ache. As she thought though, she realized she did have an answer.
"There's a man," She confessed. Rill smirked and prepared a sly joke, but seeing the look in her eyes as she opened them, he stopped. He looked to Endless for guidance, but Endless had only known her a few hours longer. She sat up slowly, Rill offering a hand to help steady her as she righted herself. She continued: "A man with bright white teeth, and dark eyes. He wore a mask over his mouth, but... That smile when he took it down, struck me more than anything. I don't... Know who the man is. I don't know why he's there. But... He's not in here. In the Feywild. He's back over there."
"What happened between you and this man?" Rill asked, curious, but suddenly gentle. Tehodis' face scrunched up as she tried to remember, and Rill and Endless could both see her eyes flash a solid, bright white -- but they dissipated back to blue and she shook her head. "I don't know. I only see his face. And I hear him calling me Blue. Which... I know is not my name. But I don't recall much else. To be honest with you, Endless, the earliest thing I can remember with any clarity is the beach we met at. Before that... I see faces, and I hear voices, they're like... That iceball that flew by you. There, then gone. Some of them hit me, and I get pieces of it like shards. But... I don't know. All I know is that man is something terrible. That I'm... More afraid of him, than I am of never going back to that world. I'm more scared of him than that storm out there."
Noticing how the mood had shifted, she forced a laugh to break the quiet and said: "So, tell us more about Dyalind."

Endless feels a sort of cold grip overtake him when he listens to Tehodis speak, when he gets a clearer picture at last of what was going on with her, where she came from... His policy had, of course, been to simply not ask. He knows better than anyone that there are things people don't want to talk about, pasts better left forgotten. But then he hears about Tehodis's lack of memories, he thinks on what she's telling him, and it all makes sense...
When he'd first met her, she seemed lost, confused, airy, not quite there. She continued to seem as such even after they talked for a bit, occasionally feeling like she was drifting away from reality. Endless realizes now that she was lost in fragments of lost memories. That she has no idea where she came from, or what happened to her. He feels incredibly sad, suddenly.
But she seems to want to lighten the mood, and asks more about Dyalind, and Rill only spares Endless one more questioning glance (one that Endless cannot answer) before Rill brightly dives into more about the city of sweets, telling them all kinds of things about it with animated gestures, and Endless decides to indulge in the distraction.
And outside, a storm rages, black clouds and dark magic blotting out the sky and turning the happy giggling mushrooms into terrifying nightmares. It would be several hours before it passed....
